Alexey Brodovitch Research And Response Cover

Alexey Brodovitch was born in 1898 and died April 15th 1971, he is most famous for his work as an art director primarily for Harpers Bazaar. Before starting his career in Paris after moving there, his early life consisted of working in the military including fighting for the Russian military in WWI. He worked as a graphic designer in Paris from 1920-1930 and in 1934 his career ascended as he was hired by Carmel Snow, editor of Harpers Bazaar magazine to rejuvenate the magazine with a modern spirit where he worked there for 15 years and due to declining health he had to leave.

For my response piece i used photoshop to create multiple layers of the same image on a background and then changed the opacity of each layer so that they would have a staggering affect, i especially liked how this turned out However now looking back at the image i feel as if i could've cleaned up the image a little better and feathered the outline of each layer.
