For this set of images I chose to investigate the technique called Chiaroscuro through the work of Eric Kim. What I especially like about this technique is the lighting because it adds so much more depth to the images. There is the added element of drama, this is enabled through the effect / technique of using less light. This is achieved by using one light source. I like how the background is dark on one side, however I still get the effect of the silhouette by selectively positioning the subject.

Areas for development - my critical analysis:

To improve/ develop my work I think I should create more depth/ spacing between the foreground and the background, in this instance the foreground consists of the subject so the person and the light subject.

I have been able to achieve multiple elements in my images and this consists of :

-Detailing

-Contrasting

-Shadow controll

-lighting

-Depth

These two images are my most successful as I have created Chiaroscuro Lighting whilst still keeping the detailing in the face.
